My Summer @ Oracle

Working alongside the senior business operations analyst for GBU marketing and senior manager of GBU marketing operations, I supported the improvement of how marketing performance data was visualized, shared, and understood. My work focused on streamlining reporting, strengthening data accuracy, and making analytics more accessible across teams.

work

Redesigned how marketing data was organized and communicated to make insights clearer, faster, and more actionable for global teams

Due to NDA, I can’t share the reporting interfaces or datasets; however, over 12 weeks our work focused on translating complex marketing data into accessible visual systems, improving workflow usability, and strengthening data transparency across teams.

impact

Driving measurable improvements in usability, efficiency, and cross-team collaboration

By standardizing reporting workflows and optimizing data access, my work enabled global marketing teams to interpret insights faster, reduce manual effort, and make more confident, data-driven decisions.

Takeaways

Translating complex data into insights helped me gain confidence navigating enterprise systems and understand the impact of thoughtful design

Due to NDA, I can only share an overview of my work on this project. If you’re interested in learning more about what I worked on in more detail at Oracle, please feel free to reach out!

Project outcomes

Initially, working with large-scale marketing data felt overwhelming, but by leveraging my existing Tableau and SQL skills, I was able to make sense of the enterprise reporting system and translate complex datasets into actionable insights. This process helped me build confidence in navigating and designing within data-heavy environments.

Why this matters

This project marked my first step toward thinking like a UX designer in a data context. I began to consider the needs and behaviors of the people who would actually use these dashboards and resources, forming early ideas about user archetypes, accessibility, and workflow efficiency. It helped me see the value of designing not just for accuracy, but for usability.

Looking ahead

Through this experience, I realized I value the intersection of creativity and data-driven design. Thinking critically about how to simplify the user experience while working with complex datasets has influenced how I approach future projects, encouraging me to design tools and systems that are both functional and intuitive for diverse users.
